|Ulcinj/Ulqin [Yugoslavia, 1999]|
Ulcinj is the last town in Montenegro before the
Albanian border, and its population is predominantly Albanian. During the
Kosovo war of 1999 - when as many as one million ethnic Albanians fled
their homes - the people of Ulcinj housed and helped thousands of
refugees. In a gesture of thanks, the UN's refugee organisation put on a
concert for the town. The town's children turned up in fancy dress and had
a great time.
